WorkDirections
Annual Review
—
WorkDirections is one of the leading welfare to work providers in the UK. In 2008, the company had doubled in size, at the same time, unemployment benefit and welfare-to-work programmes had become a political hot potato.
The organisation was keen to represent themselves as authoritative, no-nonsense thought leaders and people who got results in difficult times. They wanted to stand out from their competition without inappropriate gimmicks or spin. Their key audiences were influential policy makers with little time to take in important messages.
WorkDirections had spotted Wire's ability to appreciate social issues and to develop clear, strong and effective communication.
After initial consultation with key members of senior staff, wire created a strategy that was designed to position the organisation as authoritative thought leaders and policy influencers.
The resulting report is a series of bold statements on key agenda issues. Information is layered so that even the busiest person can scan the document to get a clear idea of WorkDirections position and approach.
Wire worked closely with the senior management team to create a key message and a set of strong photographic narratives that demonstrate, at a glance, that WorkDirections get people back into work.
The cover itself was designed to relay the new, clear, confident, position of the organisation, even before a page is turned.
I was impressed by the creativity that they brought to the table and the fact that they weren't afraid to challenge our preconceptions of what would work best. They are confident, professional and passionate about great design, all of which came across in the Annual Review that we produced.”
