When Camden Council needed to communicate a positive vision of how the borough could improve between now and 2012, they asked Wire to help.

Wire’s solution was to create a communication strategy designed to engage everyone who can influence the future of Camden. Our first step was to develop a thorough understanding of the issues facing the borough.

Camden contains major regeneration projects such as the new Kings Cross terminal but also some of the capital’s most deprived areas. It is home to luxury mansions as well as dense council housing. Over 80% of the jobs in Camden go to people who live outside the borough.

Using real-life stories of local people, we created a series of portraits in words and pictures to capture people’s everyday lives – highlighting key issues, fears and positive ideas for the future.

The result is a series of inspirational stories which will encourage other people to come forward with their own ideas and thoughts too – whether through face to face meetings, written or online consultation.

Our aim is to give everyone a genuine opportunity to influence the future of Camden. The feedback will be integrated into Camden’s existing plans and strategies, creating a positive vision of the future that embraces a wide diversity of influences.
